Cotton drill for our opening spring
Why did we use cotton drill for this Summer collection? What kind of fabric is it and what are its characteristics? Is it certified?
Let’s have a look at it together and understand better the value of our raw material.
Fabric:
Cotton drill is a weaven, light ribbed fabric similar to denim.
Its sturdiness and its weight make it a typically masculine and sporty fabric.
Due to its weight, it’s perfect for mid-season.
Our cotton drill comes from an Italian supplier (http://www.dragoni.it/) and is GOTS certified (Global Organic Textile Standard, https://www.global-standard.org/).
What does it mean?
The GOTS certification is only given to those fabrics made with at least 70% organic fibers, and that have been produced with the use of chemicals that admitted by strict regulations.
Furthermore, the certification itself guarantees that throughout the production chain high ethical standards have been respected both from an environmental and social point of view.
Choosing fabrics with GOTS means choosing organic and socially sustainable.
Design:
Drill items are everyday clothes and essential design, with a strong touch of femininity.
The feminine and romantic colors contrast with the robustness of the typically masculine fabric. Colors take inspiration from natural elements such as aloe, earth, the ocean.
All these chromatic suggestions bring to contemporary the mission of Eticlò: respect for nature and for sustainability.
